Commitment To Community

All of us at Zator Law appreciate the community in which we live and work—and we believe that community involvement must be a vital part of who we are as a team. We fulfill this commitment through dedicating a combination of our time, talent, and resources to non-profit and neighborhood organizations throughout the Lehigh Valley as well as other regions. In turn, such assistance to others enriches us as a Firm and as individuals. This reinforces our culture of service as it relates to our clients, an attribute saluted by the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council, when it awarded Zator Law its annual Excellence in Business Award.

In addition to the dozens of organizations and programs to which we have donated, past and present, there are many to which Zator Law has dedicated itself professionally and personally in a more active role, such as:

  • Boy Scouts of America, Minsi Trails Council: Joe Zator serves as an Executive Board Member as well as serving as repeat Master of Ceremonies for fundraising events.
  • Forum for Ethics in the Workplace: Mr. Hoffman is a member of the Board of Directors for this organization whose mission is to “provide opportunities for people to come together for study, reflection, conversation, and action on ethical issues in the workplace.”
  • Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce: various members of our team hold or have held office in numerous committees, Councils, and groups within the Chamber, including the Chamber Board of Governors, the Small Business Council Presidency and Vice Presidency, the SBC Board of Directors, Ambassadors, Western Lehigh Chamber of Commerce and Business Council, Young Professionals Council, Finance Committee, Real Estate Committee, Masterminds, and Public Policy Initiative. For years, we have sponsored the Musical Entertainment and provided the always highly anticipated Silent Auction “Death by Chocolate” baskets at the annual Snow Ball, which benefits a different charitable organization each year.
  • Junior Achievement: We have sponsored events for JA to promote its organization and to sell items produced by JA students as they learn how to be successful in the business world.
  • Korea/Vietnam Memorial and KVM National Education Center: We have acted as pro bono, volunteer legal counsel since 1989. Located at Lehigh Carbon Community College, KVM created a memorial to honor all military service members throughout U.S. history. Instrumental in helping to secure the site approvals and providing contract reviews over the years, Mr. Zator was also the keynote speaker at the Dedication ceremonies. The goal with the next phase of the project is a National Education Center.
  • Lehigh Valley 9/11 Heroes 5K Run:  We are a sponsor and our team participates as runners, walkers and ruckers in this annual 5K which benefits the Travis Manion Foundation’s mission to empower our nation’s veterans and families of our fallen heroes an first responders.
  • Lehigh Valley Multiple Sclerosis Society Leadership Class: This program “honors corporate executives for their outstanding contributions to the civic, business, and cultural betterment” of the Greater Lehigh Valley area. As part of the program, individuals in each class conduct a special gifts campaign to benefit the National MS Society.
  • Miracle League of the Lehigh Valley: Our office provided pro bono assistance with the development approvals to build a baseball field for special needs children. We also volunteer as Angels in the Outfield and participate in fundraising events, such as sponsorships for the Annual Fundraising Dinner as well as donations of Silent Auction items, a field paver, and a team bench. Each year, we get in the spirit of the holiday by dressing up for the Halloween festivities and creating a spooky Trick-or-Treat station at the field for the children.
  • Support The Troops, Inc.: We have provided forums for this Lehigh Valley organization to make the public aware of the needs of our local troops serving in the Armed Forces. We also supply a venue for the collection of supplies, treats, books, snacks, DVDs, monetary donations, and personal notes, which are then packed and shipped overseas to our men and women in uniform.
  • U.S. Senate Service Academies Advisory Board: Mr. Zator serves on U.S. Senator Patrick Toomey’s committee that interviews and recommends the most qualified candidates to attend the Military Academies of the United States.
  • U.S. Service Academy Nomination Board, 15th Congressional District:Mr. Zator is a member of this selection committee which recommends the candidates best positioned for success at the Service Academies of the United States and who will further serve as military officers.
